About Me
I was raised in a rural town outside Grand Rapids, MI called Byron Center as the youngest of 4 boys. My parents homeschooled all four of us. My family attended the same charismatic megachurch for my entire upbringing. I felt a call to ministry at a very young age, and by my high school years I was heavily involved with the music and youth programs. After graduating High School, I travelled as a musician for a worship leader for two years before returning to Michigan to attend Bible College. I graduated from Northpoint Bible College in 2015 with a BA in Pastoral Leadership and a minor in Worship Ministry.
After a year of being a music pastor in West Michigan, my family and I relocated to Flint, MI to participate in urban ministry and loving the city. I currently reside there with my wife Kathleen, my children Emmett and Eisley, and our cat Nala.
Of course, this is only about 30 seconds of my story. I began this Podcast as a way to help people make sense of the tension between Christian faith and real life experiences. I hope to accomplish that through the medium of storytelling.
